120 mph police chase ends in collision at Tidwell Road and Mesa Drive in northeast Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — A high-speed police chase came to a violent end on Thursday morning. Authorities located a robbery suspect, an unidentified woman, in a silver Toyota on Normandy Drive around 8:40 AM in the morning. When police officers attempted to pull her over, she sped away and began driving along Interstate and the 610 Loop. The suspect then drove on Tidwell Road, where her car reached a speed of 120 miles per hour.

The chase came to an end when the driver crashed into a big-rig truck at the intersection of Tidwell Road and Mesa Drive. Amazingly, no one involved in the collision was seriously injured. The suspect was immediately arrested after the accident. The intersection was closed for at least an hour but re-opened around 10:30 AM.

Car Accident at 9598 Clay Road

Man arrested in fatal hit-and-run in Mount Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — A tip helped officers arrest a man responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred early Saturday morning. 37-year-old Reginald Smith is accused of hitting Alfonso Rodriguez as he was walking in the 13500 block of Homestead Road in Mount Houston around 1:35 AM. Rodriguez was killed upon impact.

The tipster is a friend of Smith’s, who reported to authorities that Smith had told him he hit a man on Homestead and that he fled the scene because he was scared. The tipster also saw Smith’s Cadillac, which had a broken windshield and damaged headlight. There were also several bloodstains on the vehicle.

Woman dies after driving car into lake in Missouri City

(MISSOURI CITY, January 2020) — Around 10:10 PM on Monday night, 36-year-old Aisee Mwembo drove her sedan into a neighborhood lake at Kirkpatrick Way and Riverstone Crossing Drive. The woman was immediately transported to the hospital in immediate condition following the accident. She later died of her injuries.

Driver killed, two injured in wrong-way collision in southwest Houston

38-year-old killed in hit-and-run on Eastex Freeway

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — 38-year-old Zachary Jackson was killed in a hit-and-run collision on the Eastex Freeway on Sunday morning. Jackson was reportedly fixing a faulty wheel on his vehicle on a feeder road when he was struck and killed by a passing SUV. The driver of the SUV did not stop after the accident.
