Police seek suspect in Eastex hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in Eastex last month that seriously injured an 83-year-old woman.

In a statement released last Friday, police urged the public to help them find the culprit behind the crash, which occurred at 2300 Vance Street at about 12:10 a.m. on August 7. According to officers with the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the elderly woman knocked on the door of the aforementioned residential property. When the home’s resident opened the door, they saw the woman standing in the roadway, where she was hit by a pickup truck believed to be a light-colored Ford F-150.

Paramedics took the woman to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was treated for a broken leg and wrist.

Body discovered alongside road in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man was found dead in the outer lanes of a northwest Houston road early this morning, the Houston Chronicle reports. A witness’s testimony suggests the man may have been the victim of a hit-and-run collision.

Police arrived at the scene in the 16900 block of West Little York Road at around 3:30 a.m., after receiving reports of the dead body. A witness told them that she had noticed the man stumbling in the roadway from her window and had gone to tell her husband when she heard a loud noise. When she looked again, she saw the man lying prostrate in the roadway as a vehicle drove away from the scene.

Police are investigating to determine if the vehicle was involved in the crash. We will update this blog should more information when they announce their findings.

UPDATE: Identity of 85-year-old man killed on Gessner released

HOUSTON, TX – Police have identified the man killed in a hit-and-run collision on South Gessner Drive last Wednesday as 85-year-old Sik Kwan, KPRC reports.

Kwan was attempting to cross the roadway at 12200 S Gessner before dawn on June 10, when he was hit by a motorist who fled the scene. A 911 call was placed at 5:18 a.m.; his daughter noted that his watch was broken in the collision and had stopped at 5:10 a.m.

Houston Police continue to investigate the incident, and request anyone with additional information to contact them immediately.

One killed in hit-and-run crash on North U.S. 59

KINGWOOD, TX – The Houston Police Department has asked for the public’s help in gathering more information about a  tragic hit-and-run accident that took place on April 30 in Kingwood.

Around 4:45 p.m. that afternoon, a driver of a white F-150 struck another vehicle near the 23000 block of the freeway. The suspect left the scene of the accident immediately after the crash, and the driver of the other vehicle eventually succumbed to their injuries. The suspect is believed to be a white male in their 30s or 40s.

One seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Alief

(ALIEF, MARCH 2020) — One person was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Alief on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

A Mustang was traveling on the 14100 block of Laterna Lane at a high rate of speed when it crashed into three parked vehicles. The driver of the Mustang got out of the car,  but not before taking the license plate with them. A passenger in the car suffered serious injuries.

A witness, however, was able to catch the driver before he fled the scene. Authorities believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The driver will be charged, and the charges are expected to increase if the passenger dies of their injuries.

Hit and Run Driver Caught with Child in Car

(HOUSTON, February 2020) On Tuesday a driver was arrested following a hit and run accident at the intersection of Commonwealth St and Welch St. The victim followed the suspect when they fled. Eventually, the suspect crashed, hitting a fire hydrant. According to ABC13, the suspect then attempted to flee on foot with a toddler. Police then arrested the suspect. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Man dies after hit by three vehicles in southwest Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — Around 1:53 AM on Sunday morning  at the 72oo block of Sugarland Howell Road, an unidentified man was struck by three vehicles. The man was walking on the road when he was hit by all three cars, and he was dragged about 15-20 feet by the third vehicle.

Two of the cars fled the scene of the incident, while the third vehicle that dragged the man remained behind. The victim is believed to be in his 20s. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Hit and Run Accident on West 20th Street

(HOUSTON, January 2020) Police are reporting a hit and run crash that occurred just after 3 p.m. on West 20th Street. The accident has been classified as a major crash and involved a failure to stop and render aid (commonly called hit and run).
