UPDATE: Victims in Liberty County crash identified

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX – The victims killed in a multi-vehicle accident near Cleveland on Saturday have been identified, according to local media reports. We also now know that the location of the crash.

This is an update to yesterday’s post.

The collision took place on State Highway 105, two miles east of FM 2518, shortly before 9 p.m. on September 26. The 33-year-old driver of a black pickup truck—now identified as Francisco Rivera-Rosas of Houston—attempted to pass a westbound semi truck when he collided with an eastbound Chevrolet pickup driven by 56-year-old Timothy Gannon, a resident of Saratoga, TX. Rivera-Rosas and Gannon were pronounced dead at the scene, as was Juan Salgado, a backseat passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s.

Juan Salgado-Alvarez, a 43-year-old passenger of the black pickup, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston alongside Gannon’s 57-year-old wife.

A 15-year-old passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s was taken by hospital via ambulance, but only as a precautionary measure.

Major accident reported on Phlox Street

HOUSTON, TX – A major accident was reported on Phlox Street on the afternoon of Friday, August 7, according to the team at Houston TranStar.

The crash took place at 4629 Phlox at around 12:15 p.m. It is not known what caused the crash or if anyone was hurt. Our team is actively monitoring the situation and will report back with any updates.

Accident blocks lanes in northeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – An accident blocked lanes in northeast Houston on Tuesday morning, according to CW 39 Houston.

The accident was reported on the Eastex Freeway near Jensen before Little York Road. The wreck blocked the right lane and right shoulder on the freeway.

Woman killed while crossing street in south Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street in south Houston on Friday morning, Click2Houston reports.

The woman was struck while crossing Cullen Boulevard and Orem Drive around 5:40 a.m. She was reportedly crossing in an area where pedestrians are allowed to walk.

Investigators are working to determine who was at fault.

Hit-and-run on Ella Boulevard kills one

HOUSTON, TX – A press release from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person was killed in a hit-and-run on Ella Boulevard on July 4.

According to the press release, an individual was driving their black 2004 Ford Expedition near 15300 Ella Boulevard when they were hit by a red or maroon Ford Expedition. The black Ford then slammed into a tree, killing the driver instantly.

The driver in the red Ford fled the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

HPD reports hit-and-run on Fannin Street

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Houston Police Department reports a hit-and-run crash on Fannin Street, via the department’s ‘Active Incidents’ page.

The website lists the crash at 8948 Fannin Street at 3:24 p.m on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3. The crash has been described as a major accident.

There is no word on what caused the accident or if anyone was injured — expect updates as the situation develops.

Crane Used to Remove SUV that Fell Down Embankment

(HOUSTON, February 2020) A crash around 2:30 a.m. this morning caused an SUV to go through a retaining wall and fly into an embankment. The crash occurred near the intersection of Hamilton and Elgin near the Eastex Freeway. A heavy-duty crane was needed to remove the crashed vehicle. According to KHOU11, at least one individual was taken to the hospital as a result of the crash. Other details, such as the cause of the accident, have not been made public at this time.

One Dies in Eastex Freeway Crash

(HOUSTON, January 2020) The driver of a sedan has died following a crash early Thursday morning. According to CLick2Houston, the victim lost control of their car while heading south on the freeway around 2:30 a.m. near East Crosstimbers Street. The vehicle hit another car, that did not suffer any injuries, before the original car veered off the road into a poll. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The cause of the crash is still unknown, but the freeway has reopened. This story will be updated if new information becomes available.

One Dies After Wrong-Way Crash in Cypress

(CYPRESS, January 2020) One individual died on Tuesday morning as the result of a wrong-way collision that caused the victim’s BMW to catch fire. According to The Houston Chronical, three vehicles were involved in the accident. Another individual was injured in the crash and taken to a local hospital. Car Accident at 9598 Clay Road

(HOUSTON, January 2020) The City of Houston is reporting an accident at 9598 Clay Road in Northwest Houston. At this time it is not known if anyone has been injured. However, the accident has been classified as minor. Police are reporting that a driver involved in the accident failed to exchange the legally required information with the other driver, which may warrant further investigation.
