LIBERTY COUNTY, TX – The victims killed in a multi-vehicle accident near Cleveland on Saturday have been identified, according to local media reports. We also now know that the location of the crash.
The collision took place on State Highway 105, two miles east of FM 2518, shortly before 9 p.m. on September 26. The 33-year-old driver of a black pickup truck—now identified as Francisco Rivera-Rosas of Houston—attempted to pass a westbound semi truck when he collided with an eastbound Chevrolet pickup driven by 56-year-old Timothy Gannon, a resident of Saratoga, TX. Rivera-Rosas and Gannon were pronounced dead at the scene, as was Juan Salgado, a backseat passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s.
Juan Salgado-Alvarez, a 43-year-old passenger of the black pickup, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston alongside Gannon’s 57-year-old wife.
A 15-year-old passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s was taken by hospital via ambulance, but only as a precautionary measure.
