One killed in three-vehicle car wreck near Lone Star Community College

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — A driver of a BMW was driving westbound near on West Road when they struck an SUV and a Chevy truck at the 19700 block of the road early Tuesday morning. After hitting the truck, the BMW caught on fire.

The driver of the BMW was killed upon impact, and the other two drivers sustained minor injuries. Authorities are still investigating the accident.

Dog killed in car accident on North Freeway feeder road

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — The driver of a Ford Mustang was driving on a North Freeway feeder road near Holzwarth when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a Cadillac Escalade.  The force of the collision sent both vehicles off of the road.

Bystanders who witnessed the accident rushed over to help both drivers from their cars. Reportedly, the accident occurred during a meet up among car enthusiasts in the Houston area.

Unfortunately, a dog jumped out of the Escalade during the accident was struck and killed by traffic on I-45.

Car backs into 6-year-old girl at Vickery Parc Apartments

(HOUSTON,  January 2020) — Video taken at Vickery Parc Apartments on 5301 North Sam Houston Parkway East shows a six-year-old girl being backed into by a white sedan. The crash occurred on Monday afternoon around 3:30 PM.

The young girl was transported to the hospital after the accident with minor injuries on her hands. The woman driving the vehicle was cited by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities say the driver was attempting to pull into a garage when she instead went into reverse.

Hit-and-run suspect arrested after crash in north Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — Police apprehended a hit-and-run suspect following an accident in north Houston on Monday morning. The accident occurred on the 9100 block of Airline near Little York shortly after 12 AM after a BMW collided into a Toyota traveling northbound on Airline. The Toyota was then sent into the gate of a nearby church.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene, but his vehicle soon broke down and caught fire. Police were then able to arrest the suspect. The driver of the Toyota was transported to the hospital with chest pains.

Man dies after hit by three vehicles in southwest Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — Around 1:53 AM on Sunday morning  at the 72oo block of Sugarland Howell Road, an unidentified man was struck by three vehicles. The man was walking on the road when he was hit by all three cars, and he was dragged about 15-20 feet by the third vehicle.

Two of the cars fled the scene of the incident, while the third vehicle that dragged the man remained behind. The victim is believed to be in his 20s. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Two-vehicle collision in the Heights slows down traffic on I-45

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — Two vehicles reportedly slammed into one another around 6 AM at Interstate 45 at North Street on Friday morning. Following the accident, traffic was backed up all the way to Dallas Street. However, any blockage appeared to be cleared around 7 AM.

The cause of the crash is not yet clear. One driver was taken to St. Joseph’s for treatment of injuries.

Three lanes shut down on SH-288

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — Three lanes were shut down on SH-288 at IH-69 Southwest on Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle car accident. The left lane, center lane, and left shoulder were all immediately blocked off. The scene, however, was cleared around 4:31 PM.

The cause of the crash and the presence of any injuries is not known at this time.

Two-vehicle crash reported on IH-10 Katy at Barker Cypress Road

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — A two-vehicle car accident was reported on IH-10 Katy eastbound at Barker Cypress Road on Friday morning. The collision has shut down the highway’s right and center lane. The scene has yet to be cleared — travelers are encouraged to take alternate routes if possible.

Minor injuries reported following school bus crash in Arcola

(ARCOLA, January 2020) — A school bus was traveling on Highway 6 in Arcola when a passing vehicle slammed into it at South Post Oak Boulevard around 8:30 AM on Thursday morning. At least 50 people were on the bus at the time of the crash, and authorities say 10 people were treated for injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle told police that something got into her eye, causing her to run into a red light and collide into the bus.

120 mph police chase ends in collision at Tidwell Road and Mesa Drive in northeast Houston

(HOUSTON, January 2020) — A high-speed police chase came to a violent end on Thursday morning. Authorities located a robbery suspect, an unidentified woman, in a silver Toyota on Normandy Drive around 8:40 AM in the morning. When police officers attempted to pull her over, she sped away and began driving along Interstate and the 610 Loop. The suspect then drove on Tidwell Road, where her car reached a speed of 120 miles per hour.

The chase came to an end when the driver crashed into a big-rig truck at the intersection of Tidwell Road and Mesa Drive. Amazingly, no one involved in the collision was seriously injured. The suspect was immediately arrested after the accident. The intersection was closed for at least an hour but re-opened around 10:30 AM.
