Woman pinned against wall by 18-wheeler on Highway 99

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was pinned between a wall and her vehicle after an 18-wheeler crashed on Highway 99 Thursday morning, ABC 13 reports.

The woman’s car was hit around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 99 near West Road. Emergency personnel cut the roof off her car and removed the woman from the vehicle. She was then put onto a stretcher.

It is not known what led to the 18-wheeler crash.

HOUSTON, TX – All main lanes on Beltway 8 have been closed after a heavy truck accident on the afternoon of Friday, July 31, according to the team at Houston TranStar.

18-wheeler flips over on the North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – An 18-wheeler flipped over this morning on the North Freeway, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The truck suddenly jack-knifed near the freeway’s intersection with Cross Timbers, flipping onto its side. The force of the crash ripped out the driver compartment from the truck’s frame.

Authorities say no one was seriously injured.

Man killed after being hit by 18-wheeler in grocery store parking lot

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed after being hit by an 18-wheeler in a grocery store parking lot on Saturday, according to ABC 13.

Before 8 a.m. that morning, a man—assumed to be homeless—was sleeping in the loading dock area of an Aldi Food Market. A delivery driver backed up his truck into the dock, running over the man.

Investigators have labeled the incident an accident.

Young boy killed in collision with 18-wheeler

HOUSTON,  TEXAS – A three-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman were tragically killed in a collision with an 18-wheeler in northeast Houston on Wednesday afternoon, ABC 13 reports.

The driver of a tractor-trailer was traveling on the North Sam Houston Parkway East when the driver of a Buick Park Avenue on Lee Street ran a red light. After running the red light, the Buick was hit by an 18-wheeler and ran into two other vehicles.

The driver of the Buick was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while two passengers in the same car, a 3-year-old and 25-year-old, were declared dead.

An investigation into the crash remains open.

Driver burned when big rig catches on fire along North Freeway

HOUSTON, TEXAS – A driver was burned after his big rig burst into flames on the side of the North Freeway on the afternoon of Thursday, May 21, according to The Houston Chronicle.

Witnesses say an Atlas truck was driving on the North Freeway near Greens Road when its trailer began to veer across lanes. The truck’s driver attempted to exit the freeway but struck a wall near the exit ramp. The truck’s trailer then burst into flames.

Luckily, the driver was able to escape and no one else was injured in the accident.

HPD issues press release on fatal crash on US 90

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal accident on US 90 that took place last Friday, May 15.

According to the press release, the 60-year-old victim was driving his burgundy Chevrolet Suburban when he crashed into the back of a parked 18-wheeler. He was killed upon impact.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The press release does not include the name of the victim and states that an investigation into the incident remains open.
