UPDATE: Man charged with intoxication manslaughter in northwest Houston crash

HOUSTON, TX – A man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in a fatal northwest Houston crash that claimed the life of an unidentified woman Monday evening, KHOU 11 reports.

Police say 28-year-old Esvin Aguilar was driving while intoxicated and speeding when he struck the woman’s car near 1500 West 43rd Street. The woman was attempting to cross 43rd Street at its Chesire Lane intersection.

Aguilar was determined to be intoxicated at the scene and arrested.

UPDATE: Suspect arrested in drunk driving crash near Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE, TX – The suspect in Saturday’s fatal drunk driving accident has been identified and arrested, according to the Houston Police Department.

The department says that 27-year-old Marquise Thomas was driving a white Chevrolet Corvette while intoxicated and crashed into a tree located at 14200 El Camino Real. A passenger in the vehicle, who has not been identified, died of their injuries. Thomas was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

He has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Man swerves to avoid hitting animal, slams into tree

HOUSTON, TX – A man was tragically killed while trying to avoid hitting an animal on Saturday morning, according to Click2Houston.

The crash took place near Highway 290 and Fairbanks North Houston Road around 1:30 a.m. that morning. Authorities believe the man swerved on the road to avoid hitting a small animal, instead  crashing into a nearby tree.

The victim has not been identified.

Pedestrian struck and killed by pickup truck

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports that a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a pickup truck on the night of Friday, June 5.

The office reports that the driver of a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck, Larry Kiel, was traveling near 9000 John Ralston Road when he struck Brandon Curtis, who was standing in the middle of the road for unknown reasons. Curtis was declared dead at the scene.

Kiel was not injured nor did he appear intoxicated. Investigators have ordered a toxicology report on the victim in the hopes of determining why he was standing in the middle of the roadway.

The case remains open.

Elderly woman killed in pedestrian accident in Crosby

CROSBY, TEXAS – An elderly woman was killed while walking home from a gas station in Crosby on Sunday morning, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The article reports that the woman was struck by a passing vehicle while walking on FM 2100 in Crosby. The driver of the 2006 Ford Ranger that hit the woman stopped to call 911 after the accident.

The driver’s headlights were on and he did not appear to be speeding at the time of the accident. He was not injured.

Father faces drunk driving charges after crash that kills daughter

HOUSTON, TEXAS – A father is facing felony charges following a fatal drunk driving crash that killed his 5-year-old daughter and critically injured his 4-year-old daughter, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 31-year-old man crashed into a traffic light located at 8900 Sam Houston Parkway West on Friday night. He reportedly failed a sobriety test and is being held in the Harris County Jail.

The 5-year-old died after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The other daughter remains in critical condition. The man, unidentified, faces charges of felony murder and intoxication assault.

At least one killed in crash on I-69

HOUSTON, TEXAS – At least one person was killed in a fatal collision on I-69 on the night of Thursday, June 4, according to the Houston Police Department’s official Twitter page.

The wreck was reported at I-69 Eastex Freeway and Will Clayton Parkway. The accident shut down all northbound lanes on the freeway. HPD encouraged travelers to seek alternate routes after the accident.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Teenager killed in drunk driving accident

HOUSTON, TEXAS – A fifteen-year-old was killed in a drunk driving crash in Houston on Friday morning, ABC 25 reports.

Authorities say the crash occurred just after 2:30 a.m. this morning near Loch Katrine Lane. The teenager was the passenger in a BMW that crashed into a Hummer. The force of the crash split the BMW in half, killing the teenager upon impact. The driver and another passenger in the same vehicle were hospitalized.

The driver of the Hummer has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

Hazmat spill shuts down lanes on IH-45 Gulf

HOUSTON, TEXAS – According to the Houston TranStar website, a hazmat spill has shut down multiple lanes on IH-45 Gulf on the afternoon of Thursday, June 4.

Three vehicles collided at the freeway’s intersection with Broadway Street, triggering the spill. The crash has shut down the freeway’s left shoulder, left lane, and center lanes.

As of 3:10 p.m., the spill has yet to be cleared.
