HOUSTON, TX – Authorities have released details of a fatal crash involving a passenger vehicle and a tow truck in Harris County on Sunday. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at the intersection of Queenston Boulevard and Indigo Mist Court at about 5:20 p.m.
Investigators said Sue Gilchrist was driving a Ford Focus in the eastbound lane of Indigo Mist Court when she stopped at a stop sign before continuing into the intersection. Her vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram tow truck driven by Shaandeep Bala, which was traveling at a high rate of speed.
EMTs who responded to the scene found Gilchrist with no signs of life. The sheriff’s office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the accident.

HOUSTON, TX – Police say a vehicle driven by a suspected burglar crashed into a home in west Houston and ignited a fire, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The incident began Thursday night at about 11:30 p.m., when officers saw the man break into a nail salon. When they tried to arrest him, the suspect took off in his truck. However, he lost control and was ejected from the vehicle as he turned a corner on Rockyridge Drive. The truck kept going and slammed into the garage of a home, authorities said.
The crash caused a fire that spread into the home and also destroyed the homeowner’s new car before it was extinguished by firefighters.
There were no injuries to anyone in the house or the suspect, who was eventually arrested. Police said he was wanted for a string of recent burglaries.

HOUSTON, TX – A suspect being chased by police crashed into a vehicle with a family inside in southeast Houston Wednesday, KHOU reports.
Police began chasing a pickup truck that was reported stolen, after witnesses said that the vehicle was being driven erratically.
The pickup ended up slamming into a Dodge Charger near the Gulf Freeway and South Wayside. A mother and her two children were in the Dodge but were not injured.
The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to face charges.

HOUSTON, TX – A man was found dead in the outer lanes of a northwest Houston road early this morning, the Houston Chronicle reports. A witness’s testimony suggests the man may have been the victim of a hit-and-run collision.
Police arrived at the scene in the 16900 block of West Little York Road at around 3:30 a.m., after receiving reports of the dead body. A witness told them that she had noticed the man stumbling in the roadway from her window and had gone to tell her husband when she heard a loud noise. When she looked again, she saw the man lying prostrate in the roadway as a vehicle drove away from the scene.

HOUSTON, TX – Two civilians and a police officer were hospitalized early Wednesday when a police cruiser that was responding to an emergency call collided with a passenger vehicle in Northwest Houston.
KHOU reports that the cruiser was heading east on Hempstead Road with its lights engaged when it collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Fairbanks North Houston Road.
Two passengers—an adult and a minor—were taken to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure. The officer driving the cruiser was also hospitalized, after complaining of shoulder pain.
None of the injuries is believed to be serious.

The collision took place on State Highway 105, two miles east of FM 2518, shortly before 9 p.m. on September 26. The 33-year-old driver of a black pickup truck—now identified as Francisco Rivera-Rosas of Houston—attempted to pass a westbound semi truck when he collided with an eastbound Chevrolet pickup driven by 56-year-old Timothy Gannon, a resident of Saratoga, TX. Rivera-Rosas and Gannon were pronounced dead at the scene, as was Juan Salgado, a backseat passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s.
Juan Salgado-Alvarez, a 43-year-old passenger of the black pickup, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston alongside Gannon’s 57-year-old wife.
A 15-year-old passenger of Rivera-Rosas’s was taken by hospital via ambulance, but only as a precautionary measure.

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX – A crash involving two pickup trucks left three dead and several injured on Saturday evening, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The fatal accident occurred on State Highway 105 near Cleveland at around 8:50 p.m., when a 33-year-old man driving a westbound black pickup west on State Highway 105 attempted to pass a semi truck and crashed head-on into an oncoming Chevrolet pickup.
The crash killed the passing pickup’s driver and a backseat passenger, as well as the 56-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet. A second passenger in the black vehicle was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital alongside a 57-year-old female passenger in the Chevrolet. Both are listed in critical condition.

Deputies responded to the incident at FM 1960 East near Droitwich Drive around 2:58 a.m. Luckily, the driver of the vehicle, an unidentified woman, was not hurt. She however, was not able to tell authorities what led to the accident.

HOUSTON, TX – A driver crashed into a firetruck responding a wreck on the Southwest Freeway on the night of Thursday, September 17, according to KHOU 11.
Firefighters were reportedly responding a wreck on Chimney Rock when two vehicles—neither involved in the initial wreck—crashed into HFD Ladder 51. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital, but no first responders were injured.
An investigation into the incident remains open.
