KATY, TX – A woman was rescued from her Mustang after a car accident near Katy on the evening of Tuesday, August 11, KHOU 11 reports.
A driver ran a red light on Mason at Katy Briar, causing the Mustang and a pickup truck to crash into one another. The roof of the Mustang was cut off to rescue the woman inside, and she was taken to the hospital via Life Flight. Authorities expect her to survive her injuries.

HOUSTON, TX – A young boy was killed in a west Houston hit-and-run on Sunday morning, FOX 26 reports.
The boy was on a scooter traveling through a crosswalk near 2600 Chimney Rock Road when he was hit by a vehicle driving eastbound on Westheimer Road. A white wrecker was also reported as hitting the boy after the initial accident. Neither vehicle remained at the scene.

JERSEY VILLAGE, TX – A police officer was hit by a suspect during a pursuit in Jersey Village on Friday morning, according to KHOU 11.
The suspect reportedly refused to stop for police and led them in a chase along Highway 290 and FM 529 around 3 a.m. The driver was then cornered at 11700 Wolf Run and attempted to make a U-turn to get back onto the road. They then crashed into a police cruiser head-on.
Four people were arrested by authorities, with one of the suspects being reported as having a laceration on her head. No other injuries were reported.

HOUSTON, TX – A man crashed his pickup truck after being shot at by a gunman on Sunday night, according to KHOU 11.
The pickup truck, which was driven by a father and contained his girlfriend and child, pulled up to a red light on Parker, along with the driver of a sedan. An individual inside of the sedan then pulled out a weapon and fired at the pickup truck. 19-year-old Luis Balthazar, the driver of the truck, was hit in the head and then crashed the vehicle. Luckily, his girlfriend and child were not hurt.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for surgery. Authorities are on the hunt for the gunman, who fled the scene immediately after the incident.
