Man facing charges after alleged DUI hit-and-run in Spring

SPRING, TX – A man is facing multiple charges after fleeing an accident in Harris County while allegedly intoxicated, according to a Facebook post by the office of Harris County Constable Mark Herman.

The accident happened Sunday in the 11000 block of Northpointe Boulevard in Spring.

The accused is 37-year-old Abel Martinez, who, according to the Constable’s Office, fled the scene after the collision and was stopped later by an officer. After performing field sobriety tests, authorities determined that he was driving while intoxicated.

During a search of his vehicle, authorities discovered a firearm.

Martinez is facing charges of second-offense DWI and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

His bond has been set at $200.

Driver facing DUI charges in accident on Aldine Westfield Rd

SPRING, TX – A person is facing charges of driving while intoxicated following a car accident in Harris County last night.

The Twitter account of the Harris County Constable for Precinct Four reported the accident just before 11 p.m. and stated that it occurred in the 24300 block of Aldine Westfield Road.

The suspect and circumstances of the collision have not yet been made publicly available by police.

It is unknown whether anyone was injured in the crash.

Authorities reminded the community of the possible consequences that drinking and driving might have, and asked drivers to find another way home if they’ve imbibed.

Victim dies from injuries from late June crash

HOUSTON, TX – A victim injured in a car accident on the Katy Freeway on June 28 has died of their injuries, according to the Houston Police Department.

The unidentified victim was reportedly driving a white Mercedes sedan in the westbound lanes near 12200 Katy Freeway. The woman was then hit by an 18-wheeler and pushed into a concrete divider on the side of the road. She was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.

She died of her injuries on July 10. The investigation into the crash remains open.

Woman killed while crossing the Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed while crossing the Gulf Freeway on Monday night, according to the team at the Houston Chronicle.

Authorities believe she was attempting to cross the freeway when she was hit by a car near the South Sam Houston Parkway. The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Teenager hit and killed while skateboarding in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON, TX – A teenager was killed while skateboarding in northwest Harris County on Monday night, according to the team at Click2Houston.

The teen was reportedly riding a skateboard on West Montgomery Road when he was struck and killed by a car around 11:45 p.m. The driver did not remain at the scene.

Child hurt in hit-and-run in Cypress

CYPRESS, TX – A child was hurt in a hit-and-run collision in Cypress on the night of Saturday, July 11, Click2Houston reports.

The child was riding their bike at 14700 Fir Knoll Way when they were hit by an approaching vehicle around 8 p.m. The suspect fled the scene but was later detained by police. Authorities say that the 9-year-old suffered minor injuries.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.

UPDATE: Second child dies from injuries following I-45 wreck

HOUSTON, TX – A second child has died following the major wreck on I-45 that took place on Tuesday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 11-year-old and 13-year-old victims were passengers in the backseat of a Nissan Altima that was stranded in an HOV lane with a flat tire. The car was then struck by the 17-year-old driver of a red Ford Mustang.

The young passengers, Johnathan Alexander and Tory Alexander Jr., were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries and later died. Others involved in the wreck were also hospitalized.

Child struck by vehicle on Kuykendahl

SPRING, TX – A child was struck by a vehicle on the afternoon of Friday, July 10, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 13000 Kuykendahl Road. A LifeFlight was dispatched to the scene to rush the child to the hospital.

After the accident, all southbound lanes of the road were shut down by emergency personnel. Travelers were encouraged to avoid the area.
