1 dead, 1 injured in wrong-way crash on Grand Parkway

SPRING, TX – One person died and one person was critically injured in a wrong-way collision on Grand Parkway near Riley Fuzzel on Saturday.

According to KHOU, the accident happened at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. An SUV was heading west in the eastbound lanes of the Grand Parkway when it slammed into an eastbound car, killing the driver inside. The SUV’s driver is in critical condition.

After the initial accident, an oncoming FedEx 18-wheeler lost control and partially rolled over on the roadway. That driver did not suffer major injuries.

The cause of the initial accident is under investigation.

Houston Police search for two vehicles in hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are asking the public for help locating two vehicles wanted in connection to a hit-and-run accident that killed a woman earlier this summer.

According to KHOU, the accident happened on the 3700 block of Liberty Road just before 10 p.m. on July 9. Police believe the suspected drivers were in a black SUV and a black Chevrolet Camaro.

Drunk driver flees the scene of North Houston crash

HOUSTON, TX – A possibly intoxicated driver fled the scene of a crash on Thursday night, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The crash occurred at 20420 Imperial Valley Drive around 10:51 p.m. The suspect drove off but was later located and appeared to be intoxicated.

One-vehicle accident reported on State Highway 225

HOUSTON, TX – The team at Houston TranStar has reported a one-vehicle accident on State Highway 225 on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 15.

The accident occurred after the freeway’s intersection with Goodyear Drive. According to Houston TranStar, the accident shut down the freeway’s right shoulder. The accident was cleared as of 3:42 p.m.

Man killed in hit-and-run in north Harris County

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed in a hit-and-run in north Harris County on Tuesday morning, according to Click2Houston.

The man was walking on the North Freeway near Rankin when he was hit and killed by a passing vehicle. The driver did not remain at the scene and instead fled. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Child killed in collision in Conroe

CONROE, TX – A child was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Conroe on Sunday morning, according to the team at ABC 13.

An SUV driven by the child’s father reportedly crashed into guard rail and light pole on the side of I-45. Another child was inside the car at the time of the crash but it is not yet known if they, or the driver, were injured.

The child’s age was not confirmed by authorities on Sunday.

One killed in car accident in Richmond

RICHMOND, TX – One person was killed in a car accident in Richmond on Friday, July 10, according to a tweet from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at the intersection of FM 762 AND FM 1994 around 4:51 p.m. Two AirMed helicopters were sent to the scene and one person did not survive the accident. The office did not reveal the name of the victim but encouraged travelers to avoid the area.

Two people rescued from burning vehicle

HOUSTON, TX – A Good Samaritan rescued two people from a burning vehicle following a car accident on Thursday night, NBC 5 reports.

Authorities say a red vehicle was traveling on Bonham Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to roll. The vehicle then caught on fire. A Good Samaritan was able to rescue the victims, a man and woman, from the burning car. Both were rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Man killed in street racing crash

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed in an alleged street racing crash on Wednesday night, according to KHOU 11.

A witness stated that two cars were racing near 10100 North Houston Rosslyn when one of the vehicles slammed into a nearby tree. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jim Lopez-Orellana.

Woman killed in crash on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – ABC 13 reports that a woman was killed in a crash on the Eastex Freeway on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 7.

The woman was driving a black Hyundai Genesis near the freeway’s 15900 block when she suddenly hit a wet spot on the road. Her car spun out of control and crossed several lanes of traffic. Eventually, she was hit by a tractor-trailer that could not move out of the way in time.

The unidentified driver on the Hyundai was killed upon impact. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
