3-year-old infant injured in hit-and-run collision in northeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX- A three-year-old child was hurt in a hit-and-run collision in northeast Houston on Friday night.

The accident occurred around 8:10 PM at the intersection of Wayside Drive and Tidwell Road. The child suffered several broken bones and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The child was reportedly walking alone in the intersection when he was hit by a passing Ford F-150. The woman driving the truck allegedly got out of the car and looked at the child but did not stop.

She apparently returned to the scene of the crash and was arrested. Authorities are still looking for the infant’s parents.

Woman killed and man injured in early-morning car crash

HOUSTON, TX- A woman was killed and a man was left injured following an early morning car crash in Harris County this morning.

Around 7:30 AM, a driver of a blue car lost control of his vehicle on Campbell Road and crashed into a pole at Raider Circle. The female passenger in the vehicle was killed upon impact while the driver was rushed to the hospital. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

Man jumps off freeway to avoid being hit by semitruck

HOUSTON, TX- A Houston man jumped off the freeway to avoid being hit by a semitruck Friday morning, Click2Houston reports.

The accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning on the I-45 North freeway on Rankin road. The crash happened because the Amazon 18-wheeler was swerving to avoid a wreck that involved multiple cars on the road. Two women were killed, and three others injured. The two children involved in the accident were restrained properly and suffered minor injuries. The man who jumped off the freeway fell about twelve or so feet and sustained injuries, but is expected to be okay.

Car accident clogs lanes on Houston tollway

HOUSTON, TX – A vehicle was traveling southbound on the West Sam Houston Tollway near Clay Dr. when it crashed.

The right lane and the center lane were both affected and traffic was halted while first responders were on the scene. Drivers should avoid that area until the lanes are cleared and the situation is deemed safe.

Major accident causes slight traffic disruption

HOUSTON, TX- A major accident occurred at around 11:00, Thursday, April 9th.

The wreck happened in Houston at the intersection of Greens Rd. and Vickery Dr. As of right now, there are no confirmed injuries or deaths, despite the severity of the crash.

Driver Distracted by Spider Causes 5 Car Crash

(HOUSTON, APRIL 2020) — A driver struck three vehicles Wednesday night after being distracted by a spider, abc13 reports.

One of the vehicles was pushed into a fifth car, causing a large pileup. Reportedly, three of the cars were parked when they were hit.

The driver claimed that a spider in his vehicle distracted him, leading him to crash into the three vehicles.

Injuries have yet to be reported. The roadway was temporarily closed.

Fatal car accident near Lawndale, man pronounced dead at hospital

HOUSTON, TX – A fatal accident occurred at around noon last Saturday, at 7000 Lawndale Street.

The victim,  a 76-year-old male, was struck by a black Kia Optima while trying to cross the street. He was rushed to Ben Taub hospital where he was then pronounced dead. According to the first-responders, the man did not appear to have the right of way. The driver of the Optima remained at the scene and complied with officers. Although the investigation is still underway, no charges have been made yet.

All main lanes on SH-99 shut down after hazmat spill

(HOUSTON, APRIL 2020) — According to Houston TranStar, all main lanes on SH-99 were closed following a hazmat spill.

The crash occurred around 4:33 PM on Tuesday afternoon at the freeway’s intersection with Cypress Rosehill. The accident has yet to be cleared, so travelers are encouraged to take alternate routes if possible.

Teen killed after crashing into power pole

HOUSTON, TX- A Houston teen was killed after crashing into a power pole in Northeast Houston last Tuesday evening. The 17-year-old victim’s sedan went airborne after crossing the railroad. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the pole. No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash.

The victim was treated by local firefighters before paramedics took him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim is suspected to have been speeding at the time of the accident. Powerlines were knocked over and the surrounding neighborhood briefly lost electricity.

Cypress man killed after fatal accident with garbage truck

CYPRESS, TX- Police responded to a call at 10800 White Oak Point Saturday afternoon regarding a pedestrian. The 64-year-old victim was killed after being struck by a garbage truck.

Around the time of the accident, the victim potentially argued with the truck driver, and was attempting to throw trash away when he was hit. As of right now, it’s unclear whether this was a tragic accident or an intentional crash. Three men were inside the truck at the time of the accident, and are cooperating with officials. The police have yet to file any charges.
