Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run collision on the East Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run collision on the East Freeway on Saturday, according to the team at KHOU 11.

Two motorcyclists were traveling southbound on Lockwood when a blue BMW sedan suddenly crashed into one of them. The motorcyclist was not seriously hurt. However, following that initial crash, a black Chevrolet Tahoe struck 23-year-old Justin Ortiz, the other motorcyclist. He was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities believe that the vehicles may have struck the motorcyclists on purpose. Anyone with information about the situation should call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
